Creating a Marketing Plan for Your Nonprofit February 5, 2019 11:30-1pm

East Texas Giving Day is an exciting part of your nonprofits outreach to the community- but it is only one part of your multichannel marketing plan. ETCF is excited to partner with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) to present “Creating a Marketing Plan for Your Nonprofit.” Learn the basic steps of creating a comprehensive marketing plan that will get your nonprofit noticed on Giving Day and beyond!

Our presenting speaker will be Lucas Roebuck, Vice President of Marketing & Chief Communications Officer for The University of Texas at Tyler. Mr. Roebuck holds Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Past experience includes managing editor of three newspapers, director of communications for a hospital and assistant professor appointments in journalism and communications.

Social Media Basics Tuesday, February 12, 2019 3-4pm

This seminar will provide tips on how to best incorporate social media into your Giving Day campaign. The session will touch on the basics of creating content for your page, organic reach and the pros and cons of paid ads.

ETCF is proud to bring in a local industry expert, Yaziri Orrostieta (aka Y.O).  Y.O. is the marketing director for Heritage Land Bank. Prior to her current position, she served as the marketing manager at Mentoring Minds, a national educational publisher based in Tyler, Texas.

Orrostieta earned her MBA in Marketing from the University of North Texas and her BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Tyler. Throughout her career, she has successfully led initiatives in various marketing channels such as direct mail, event marketing, trade shows, marketing research, web development, email automation, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), publications, and public relations.

Media Relations & Story Telling Tuesday, February 26, 2019 10-11am

How do we craft a story that truly engages our audience?  What narraitves do we share with donors, the media and board? ETCF is proud to partner with Tashara Parker, CBS 19 news anchor to present pro tips on crafting your story. Participants will learn how to establish a connection with your audience, highlight a need and build a powerful narrative. Ms. Parker will also share social media tips and how to share useful content.

Tashara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Texas A&M University and is a proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2010. Whoop! She also holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.
